Description: The Information Processing in Medical Interventions Group at the Institute for Surgical Technology and Biomechanics, University of Bern is looking for a highly motivated postdoc to develop cutting edge machine learning and medical image analysis algorithms for musculoskeletal imaging, with a focus on developing registration/segmentation algorithms for processing X-ray, CT and MRI data. The position is available from March 1st, 2016. The PostDoc will be part of a team consisting of the PostDoc him/herself, the principal investigator (PI) and six PhD students. Thus, active participation in supervising PhD students is expected. Required skills/experiences include: (A) Doctorate degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics or related fields with knowledge and experience in medical image analysis, machine learning (deep learning) or computer vision algorithm development and implementation; (B) Strong publication record in major conferences/journals such as MICCAI, IPMI, ICCV, CVPR, ECCV, PAMI, IJCV, MedIA, TMI, etc.; and (C) Excellent programming skills in C++ and Matlab.
Annual salary: $85’000.0 – $95’000.0 plus fringe benefits in Bern, Switzerland. The exact amount will depend on the experience.
