The overall theme of the project will be centered on large-scale Internet vision, vision with humans in the loop, and joint modeling of images and text, though the researcher will have some freedom to define his/her precise directions. While the position will be based at UNC, there will be ample opportunities to travel to U of I and interact with computer vision groups at both institutions.
Applicants should have (or expect to receive before the start of the position) a PhD in computer vision with an extensive background in relevant techniques and a strong publication record in top-tier conferences (CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NIPS) and journals (IJCV, PAMI).
