Description:
Your duties will entail the design and implementation of computer vision and control algorithms for R&D display systems. This may include display interface implementation, real-time face tracking, 3D reconstruction and segmentation, with a focus on commercialisation opportunities. You will work alongside world-leading experts in other fields (e.g. optics, hardware), cooperating closely with the R&D team in Colorado.
Responsibilities
- Implement control and computer vision algorithms in next generation display systems
- Work with software and hardware team on software development for new prototypes
- Work with other RealD researchers in the UK and US
Required Qualifications & Skills / Knowledge
- Strong software development capability (minimum 3 years of C/C++ programming)
- First class or 2(i) degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Independent self-starter, able to work alone as well as in a team
- Innovative and pragmatic, with strong problem-solving skills
- Interest in achieving commercial exploitation of research results
- Right to live and work in the UK and excellent English.
The following would be advantageous / desirable:
- Post graduate qualification in Computer Vision or equivalent industrial experience
- Up-to-date knowledge of 3D reconstruction, tracking and / or segmentation techniques
- Familiarity with computer vision libraries (e.g. OpenCV) and numerical tools (e.g. Matlab, Octave, NumPy)
- Knowledge of GPU programming, Python, CMake, shell scripting
- Experience in release engineering for multiple platforms
