Description: A postdoc position for researchers in Computer Vision and Machine Learning is available with the group of Christopher Rozell in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology (Atlanta, GA). We are looking for a highly motivated and creative individual who enjoys working in an exciting interdisciplinary research environment. The research project centers around visual search tasks for autonomous systems that require non-trivial human-computer interaction (e.g., semantic descriptors, comparisons to known objects, etc.). The approach exploits approaches from modern machine learning and signal processing, such as low-dimensional geometric modeling and active rank-ordering. Applicants should hold a PhD in a related discipline with a strong research record in computer vision (documented by publications at top CV conferences). Experience in visual attributes and zero-shot recognition are desired. The position has no mandatory teaching or administrative duties, but the successful candidate will take an active role in mentoring students and developing the research program. Excellent (written and oral) communication skills in English are required. The start date is flexible but ideally would be in August 2015 or January 2016. The position is initially for 12 months with the possibility of renewal. Compensation will be commensurate upon relevant experience.
