Your role

As a computer scientist within our R&D organization, you will research, build, and improve large-scale parallel applications based on machine learning and graph theory to extend Conversant’s personalization platform. Conversant’s personalization is based on analysis of anonymized data at internet scale, and is used in evaluating one trillion advertising opportunities per month in real-time. You will work on real-world problems as part of our highly collaborative R&D team, and your work will directly and rapidly impact our business.

Your responsibilities will include

• Develop an understanding of Conversant’s personalization platform
• Develop and optimize machine learning and graph algorithms on internet-scale datasets
• Design, implement, and validate your solutions in Apache Spark and Scala on a large state-of-the-art cluster
• Work with our Engineering teams to integrate your solutions into Conversant’s platform
• Participate fully in our collaborative approach to research and applications projects

Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications

• A Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field
• Experience in one or more of machine learning, computer vision, or graph algorithms
• Prior experience in Spark and Scala is desirable but not required
• Experience in functional programming is a plus
• Experience with large data sets is a plus
• Desire to work in a highly collaborative environment
• Desire to apply your expert knowledge
