Description: Your job: This PhD position focuses on computer vision and augmented reality applied to minimally invasive liver surgery. A possible application is to locate a hidden tumor inside the liver during surgery in real time and make it visible to surgeons using augmented reality. The goals will be to propose new computer vision tools and methods to facilitate this type of application. Your skills: You should have a strong interest in computer vision and image processing. You should have a good background in mathematics and programming. Experience with topics such as feature detection and tracking, modeling, optimization, are welcome. You should also have a good written and oral communication skill in English. This PhD position is for 3 years and available within the Advanced Laparoscopy and Computer Vision (ALCoV) group of the Image Science for Interventional Techniques (ISIT) lab at Universite d'Auvergne (Clermont-Ferrand, France). Publication at the top level will be sought in computer vision, medical imaging and hepatic surgery conferences and journal.
