Description: Applications are invited for a fully-funded PhD studentship (UK/EU Fees + Maintenance) in Computer Vision. The successful candidate will be working on a project focused on video monitoring for healthcare in residential environments.
Research into human activity recognition is a major part of computer vision. This area focuses on describing, learning and recognising interactions between individuals, as well as between an individual and his/her surrounding environment. This capability would lead to the automatic logging and analysis of a person's daily activities, including online monitoring of any changes in the person's routine across time.
- A minimum 2.1 honours degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical and Electronic Engineering or other relevant subjects.
- Solid mathematical ability and excellent programming skills.
- Basic knowledge of Computer Vision and/or machine learning would be very useful.
