Description: The primary focus of the Multimedia Analytics Group at Xerox Research Centre India (XRCI) is to drive innovations in the area of video analytics by leveraging computer vision, machine learning, deep learning, speech and text analytics expertise. The work done in this group is directly applicable to multiple industries including Education, Healthcare and Transportation. Researchers from this group regularly publish papers in top tier conferences in diverse areas including vision, speech and text (CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, ACM Multimedia ICASSP, INTERSPECCH, ICPR, ICDAR, , etc). We are seeking bright Masters and PhD students for research internship. The applicant should be either at the final stage of a Master’s or in a Ph.D. program in Computer Science, Statistics or related fields, with a strong background in deep learning (Convolutional Neural Networks and/or Recurrent Neural Networks) and programming. Knowledge of optimization and statistics will be considered as a plus. The intern will work closely with researchers to create and deliver innovative technical solutions, publish papers in top conferences/journals and contribute to the generation of patents. We offer internships to students from the best universities around the world. Internships are usually given for a period ranging from 3 to 12 months. Basic expectations from a candidate is that he/she should: a) Be proficient in Java/C++/C/Python. Have hands on experience in working with open-source ML packages, R , Matlab b) Have strong background in Machine Learning (has completed courses, undertaken projects in this area) c) have in-depth knowledge in any or all of these areas: deep learning, computer vision, text-mining, machine learning, deep learning, speech analysis and signal processing
