In this role the successful candidate will develop, test, and maintain computer vision and machine learning software applications. This is an opportunity to work with a talented team of Computer Vision and Algorithm experts in delivering solutions for HERE's mapping and location based products. Key Responsibilities: Develop algorithms to automate the detection and recognition of map features from probe, terrestrial, aerial, and satellite imagery Track and apply the latest algorithm improvements from industry and research community Utilize computer vision and machine learning algorithms to solve complex engineering problems Participate in both algorithm and software developments as a part of an Agile team Participate in project reviews and demos Innovate and patent Qualifications: • Prefer PHD with experience in Computer Vision and/or Machine Learning • 5+ years of C++ software development experience • Experience with open source and third party computer vision libraries • Ability to propose, test, and analyze algorithm improvements • Team player with the ability to work in a collaborative environment • Creative, resourceful, and innovative problem solver • Strong written and verbal communication skills Desired Skills: • Experience with deep learning technology • Ability to implement object oriented software with proper use of design patterns • Ability to investigate and perform root cause analysis of software defects • Proficiency with Perl, and Python Scripting • Experience with Linux and Amazon AWS technology
