|Location: New York|
|Department: Medical Physics|
Description: The department of Medical Physics at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center is recruiting a full-time, postdoctoral researcher with expertise in computer vision and medical image analysis to develop methods for image segmentation applied to medical images, including magnetic resonance images (MRI). MSKCC has an active research program to develop imaging features of cancer that can be used to inform and improve treatment decisions. This is a full-time appointment, initially for one-year, that may be extended upon successful performance up to a maximum of two years.
The ideal candidate should have expert knowledge of computer vision, pattern recognition and image processing. Knowledge of machine learning is also highly desirable. A strong proficiency in C++, Matlab programming and knowledge of software toolkits such as ITK and VTK would be a plus. Research will focus on developing and implementing algorithms for image segmentation, classification and discovery of correlations between image-based features with treatment outcomes and genetics applied to brain cancers and breast cancers.
