Description: We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher who has excellent knowledge of machine learning, data mining or applied statistics. As part of an interdisciplinary project team, you will help us develop new techniques for analysing human eye movement, visual behaviour and cognitive function.

The aim of our research, supported by an EPSRC grant, is to contribute toward dementia monitoring in the home. Cognitive impairments affect eye movement and visual behaviour, and we are investigating novel methods for embedded health assessment based on eye tracking in the context of everyday activity.

We expect you to have technical expertise in working with machine learning, data mining or applied statistics. You should have strong data analysis and experimental skills, and an excellent track record of research on novel data analysis methods and systems. You will be working closely with eye-tracking specialists and psychologists and must have a strong interest in working collaboratively across disciplines. Prior experience with eye movement and/or human behaviour analysis would be a plus but is not essential.

You should have a PhD degree in computer science or closely related field, and evidence of relevant research experience. Appointment will be at Grade 6 or Grade 7 depending on postdoctoral experience.
