Description: We have an exciting new role for a Computer Vision Research Engineer to work on creating Cinematic Augmented Reality (AR) experiences for devices such as Google Tango, Microsoft Hololens and future devices such as Magic Leap.
You will work in partnership with global leaders in film VFX to create the tools and technology required to deliver AR experiences based on film assets in structured environments. There are key areas of technology that are required to create high quality mixed-reality experiences: capture and structuring physical environments as interactive spaces, capture of lighting and physically correct rendering of digital elements, and machine intelligence to recognize scene elements for interaction.
We are looking for candidates with a strong track record in computer vision or computer graphics, a desire to build real-world solutions for artists, and in-depth experience in developing algorithms in C++. Applicants should demonstrate a strong understanding of the problem domain and a proven record in delivering high quality outcomes. This role sits within the award winning Research Team at The Foundry and will work closely with Software Engineers building real-time experiences on game engine platforms as well as Research Engineers developing cutting-edge image and video processing tools for the film and visual effects industries.
