supported §99 professor (Junior Professor) on
Mobile Computer Vision
The professor will be assigned to the Institute of Computer Graphics and Vision. The anticipated
date of appointment is 1st January 2014. The assignment will be limited to five years.
We are searching candidates with demonstrated scientific excellence, who will represent the area
of Mobile Computer Vision in research and teaching. We expect a focus on innovative topics such
as hardware-optimized computer vision methods, intelligent (learning) networked cameras,
sensors for 3D Vision, 3D reconstruction based on mobile scenarios. The topic of research
should reinforce and extend the existing research fields of the institute in computer graphics and
We expect disposition to collaborate with the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology across
discipline, faculty and university boundaries, readiness for problems of applied research,
participation in teaching on the bachelor, master and PhD level and the assistance in matters of
academic administration. Moreover, we anticipate proof of ability to acquire and execute national
and international research cooperation.
Requirements for candidates:
- An Austrian or international university education with a completed doctoral degree
Habilitation (venia docendi) or equivalent qualification in a relevant field
- Excellent scientific achievements, which are documented by internationally recognized
- Successful supervision of research projects and proof of successful acquisition and
execution of third-party funded projects
We also expect active participation in the international research community, outstanding
pedagogic and didactic capabilities and experience as well as the ability to lead a group. In order
to represent the subject internationally, excellent knowledge of English is required in speech and
writing. If the knowledge of German is not present, the willingness to learn the German language
