Description: The University of Luxembourg is a multilingual, international research University. The Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT) invites applications from PhD holders in the general area of computer vision. The successful candidates will join the Computer Vision team of Dr. Djamila Aouada as part of the SIGCOM group of Prof. Björn Ottersten. They will contribute to projects in Computer Vision and will perform the following tasks: 1) Shaping research in one or more of the following topics (Deep learning, 3D shape modelling, 3D motion analysis) with a focus on one or multiple of the following applications: Face modelling, 3D human body sensing, Action recognition. 2) Cooperating with industrial partners 3) Coordinating research projects and delivering results 4) Supporting activities related to the SnT Computer Vision laboratory 5) Providing guidance to PhD and MSc students 6) Disseminating results through scientific publications 7) Organizing relevant workshops and demonstrations For further information, please contact Your Profile: 1) A PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or a related field 2) Competitive research record in computer vision, machine learning, and/or image/signal processing 3) Strong mathematical background 4) Strong development skills in C++. Experience with python is a plus 5) Documented research experience in a number of the aforementioned topics 6) Experience in deep learning is a major plus 7) Experience with European projects (FP7/H2020) 8) Commitment, team working and a critical mind 9) Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English are mandatory The University of Luxembourg offers a two year employment contract and may be extended up to five years.
