| Title: Post-Doc Position: Deep Learning-based Medical Image Analysis | Posted: March 30, 2018 | Company/Institution: University of Bern, Swkitzerland | Location: Bern | Description: Job description
Recently years witnessed the unprecedented success of deep learning in medi-cal image analysis research. The translation of such a success to clinical inter-ventions requires to address various challenges that currently limit the applicabil-ity of deep learning including difficulty in quantification of uncertainty of a deep learning algorithm, availability of limited labeled data and existence of different imaging protocols. Funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation, we have an 100% position for research on musculoskeletal image segmentation and com-puter aided diagnosis of spinal debases from MR images. We closely work with clinicians in related fields and have already collected large data sets with expert annotations. We have already acquired a number of computers equipped with high-end GPUs for large scale experiments and we have a team of talented PhD students working on developing deep learning algorithms.
Requirements
We are look for a creative and enthusiastic researcher with a PhD degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Biomedical Engineering or related fields, with a strong track-record in machine learning and deep learning as well as their appli-cations in medical image analysis or computer vision tasks. Good communication skills and expertise in software development, preferably in Python/C++, are es-sential. Having strong knowledge about one of the existing deep learning frame-works such as Caffee, Tensorflow or PyTorch will be preferred.
Conditions of employment
The initial employment duration will be two years but can be extended to five years after a positive evaluation. The annual salary will be around $95,000.0 plus fringe benefits in Bern, Switzerland. | Application Instructions: Interested candidates should send their applications with references to:
