Merck Scientific Informatics Postdoctoral Fellow - Imaging Genomics

Job description

The Imaging Genomics postdoctoral fellow will develop analysis techniques to integrate imaging and genomic data for identifying high-confidence genesets for improved diagnosis, patient stratification and assessment of therapeutic response. The researcher will apply advanced data analysis techniques from to extract meaningful information from high-dimensional, multi-modality data. The project will include analysis of both public and internal imaging and genomic datasets in oncology.

Required Skills:

  • Must possess a PhD with a concentration in a mathematically intensive discipline. Examples include applied mathematics, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, computer science, bioinformatics, statistics
  • The position requires extensive knowledge in one and preferably two or more of the following areas: Machine learning, data mining, pattern recognition, image processing, signal processing, bioinformatics, statistics
  • Research experience in analyzing high dimensional data from multiple modalities
  • Candidate must be motivated, a broad thinker of approaching problems in new ways, and an excellent communicator and team player
