We are looking for candidates with strong analytical and software skills to join our team. Our Research Scientists are responsible for ensuring the state of the scientific art in existing products, and introducing major innovations that can result in a new product line or a new area or business.
Responsibilities
Initiate and execute research projects, develop new and innovative experiences, algorithms, and technologies, and pursue patents where appropriate
Identify areas of strategic research importance for the company, and define and execute plans that contribute towards these strategic directions
Demonstrate world-class external visibility through publications, presentations, external collaborations at top-tier academic venues and conferences
Work with an all-star group of junior and senior researchers to solve fundamental Computer Vision research problems of strategic and tactical interest to the company and its products
Collaborate with partners in engineering and products groups as well as researchers in academia
Required Skills and Qualifications
PhD in Computer Science (We will accept written documentation within 90 days of your employment start date that you have completed all of the requirements for your PhD, and that your doctorate degree has been or will be conferred upon you in the near future.)
Successful record of publication in top-tier international research venues in Computer Vision
Expertise in Visual Computing and Learning areas such as object recognition, image classification, annotation, object detection, deep learning, scene understanding, image retrieval, and large scale image understanding
Ability to perform research that is justified and guided by business opportunities
Preferred Skills and Experience
Industrial experience via prior internships or other employment
Expertise in the theory and practice of machine learning
