Two PhD positions in Human/Computer Vision are available at the Institute for Human-Machine-Communication of Technical University Munich. They are funded by the Elite Network Bavaria as part of the newly established International Junior Research Group led by Michael Dorr.

Our research bridges human and computer vision and we study how biological systems deal with the enormous complexity of the real world, and how we can build technical systems that mimic and augment these impressive skills. Particular emphasis is placed on attention mechanisms and the selective processing of dynamic natural scenes by rapid eye movements. Given the interdisciplinary nature of our research, we are looking for enthusiastic candidates with a masters or equivalent degree in computer science, mathematics, or engineering with strong interest in neuroscientific questions; candidates from psychology and neuroscience with demonstrable programming experience are also encouraged to apply.
