We are currently looking for a permanent, full-time Research Scientist for our Toronto, Ontario location, for the research and development of "Fitness to Drive" products.
Our research bridges human brain behaviour and machine learning as we study how external factors such as eye movements relate with the internal complexity of the human brain. Particular emphasis is placed on attention mechanisms and the selective effect of impairment on eye movements. Techniques we use include EEG, brain modelling, eye-tracking and advanced machine learning.
Given the interdisciplinary nature of our research, we are looking for enthusiastic candidates with a Ph.D in Neuroscience and a strong aptitude in computational science. The successful candidate is expected to have expert knowledge in researching brain behaviour and eye movements due to sleep deprivation. The researcher is expected to help in designing experiments, collecting data and analyzing results for impairment caused by sleep deprivation, alcohol and drug use. The candidate will collaborate with team comprising of ACS research and engineering staff, university researchers and external contractors. The candidate is also expected to write grant proposals and papers, and attend conferences to support ACS research initiatives and product disclosures.
